This ponytail hat pattern will enchant you with its twisted pattern for the ribbing and "scales" pattern for the body of the hat. It's the perfect showcase for the skein of sock or fingering yarn that you bought because it was so beautiful, but then didn't know what you would do with it.
The mock cable ribbing does not require a cable needle, and the scales pattern is easy to learn. A button band is knitted right along with the rest of the hat (no seams! no picking up stitches!) and allows you to wear a ponytail high, low, or in between.
