These elf dolls are the perfect project to knit for Christmas. Merry is the red hatted elf with a pinafore dress, and Twinkle the green hatted elf with shorts. The main pattern is quick and simple to create, with the bodies of both being worked in the same way. Then, give each of them their own outfit and accessories to bring them to life. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the elves are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The pattern incorporates knitted stripes for colour-work, and a decorative picot cast off (instructions are in the pattern). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
