This crochet pattern is for a pair of men's shorts, made with 4 ply cotton in a mesh design. It uses an alternating dc / sc row combination to add stability to the mesh. While the item will be see through, it is not too daring and would suit a day at the beach, covering swimwear.
The design is made in two pieces, and includes some shaping so the shorts are not boxy.
The pattern is designed using a cotton 4 ply yarn to keep the shorts lightweight. You will need a 3 mm crochet hook, plus 30mm elastic for the waistband
The garment is made in two pieces and then sewn together. The instructions include lots of detail to ensure shaping is made easy. There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so the sizing is only approximate. I have listed this pattern as "Intermediate" because of the pattern techniques.
