Migrations Socks

I started these socks while on a late-summer trip with my family to Yellowstone, which is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been. We were camping, there were some chilly nights, and I wanted a nice warm pair of socks - but I always get tired of handknit socks not hugging my feet tightly enough. So, I worked out a twisted-stitches pattern for a firmer, stretchier, more elastic fabric. I chose a lovely skein I’d been saving in a wash of blues, greys and cream tones, and worked out a pattern that looks a bit like the classic, V-shaped migratory movement of the huge flocks of birds we kept seeing on our trip. Happily, the finished result had plenty of the stretch I wanted, and a lovely long-lined silhouette to boot! I hope these socks help keep you warm and cozy, too :D
