Designed in a boomerang shape, this scarf is all garter stitch and eyelets, using a simplified, on the bias version of the lovely technique commonly known as One Row Lace Stitch.
Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED scarves, MK#49 drapes beautifully, can be worn in all sorts of ways, and is quick to knit because the pattern uses needles larger than is standard for the yarn.
The pictured scarf was made from a 100g skein of Bombed Yarns 4ply 100% merino wool hand dyed in the colour Clematis (labelled as 450 metres) and measures 192cm / 75¾ inches, by 129cm / 50¾ inches, by 94cm / 37 inches. I very gently steam blocked this scarf because I wanted to slightly straighten the edges and the columns, not because it needed extra length.

Materials: at least 400 metres of Fingering/Sock/4 ply yarn
5 mm / US 8 needles
Gauge: Doesn't matter unless you knit very tightly or very loosely, in which case go up or down a needle size, as applicable
