This afghan block design has lots of fine texture and opportunities for playing with colour.
The pattern is clearly written with round-by-round photographic illustrations and explanations of any tricky parts, so can be tackled by a confident beginner. Some knowledge of basic techniques such as the magic ring and invisible joining would be an advantage for the neatest finish but are not essential.
The motif works out at around 10" across in DK (light worsted) or 12" in Aran (worsted).
An optional extra surface round of 'petals' is included at the end in case you want to make the design more floral.
