Muscade is a bibbed cowl (or Roll neck bib) that covers the throat and can be worn under a jacket or coat. The front is decorated with a lovely motif of slipped stitches and nupps. It is a motif similar to the one used in my mitts Le coeur sur la main and my headband Tête en l’air patterns.
The back is shorter than the front, so it does not get in the way under a coat. The bib is worked from the bottom front up to the bottom back. The cowl is worked last, by picking stitches on the neckline: it is designed to be folded.
This pattern is worked using a lace mohair/silk and a fingering yarn held together. Pattern sample made in Teinturlurée Superkid Mohair&Silk Lace and BFL fingering, in colorway “P’tit biscuit”.
This bibbed cowl is available in 3 sizes : child, small adult, large adult. I wear the size small adult. You will need 175 (250/350) meters / 190 (275/380) yards of each yarn.
