Watching Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” is a Christmas tradition for me, so I have designed a Sugar Plum fairy from the Land of Sweets with her glittery pink tutu, and brave bold Hans the Nutcracker prince. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these dolls are knit in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). A crochet hook is used to work a single crochet chain for Nutcracker’s chinstrap. Sugarplum is 19cm and Nutcracker is 20cm tall (including the hair bun and hat). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
