This pattern has been designed for approximately a 17cm tall captain using 4ply and 2ply yarn and 2mm and 1 mm hooks. If you would like to make him larger or smaller make sure to change all the weights of yarn equally and use the corresponding hook sizes. It is advisable to crochet tight stitches so that the stuffing doesn't show through.
Feet and body are crocheted as one piece. Ears, hat and muzzle are sewn onto the head. Embroidery on face for eyes, lower mouth and nose. Head, arms, tail and belt all sewn onto the body. Most of the pattern uses a 2mm hook (and 4ply yarn) but for the tail and belt decoration which needs 1mm (and 2ply yarn).
