A fabulous stole, with an intricate design of buds and peacock feathers drawn by brioche stitch over a garter background. Pavone features a pattern that reminds of a peacock feather, hence the name(Pavone means Peacock in Italian) . It is worked using a strand of lace yarn together with a strand of lace mohair yarn to obtain an incredibly soft and light fabric.
This is an advanced brioche project, using two-color brioche worked flat on a garter background, beading and patterning on the “WS” of the fabric to obtain a fabulous, elegant and absolutely stunning piece.
This stole is started from the center back with a provisional cast on and worked out to the first point. When the first side is finished, stitches are taken back from provisional cast on and the second side is worked in the same pattern as the first one. While the pattern is quite complex, finishing is minimal, but the blocking requires care.
