Pelophylax (water frogs)

Pelophylax is the generic name for water frogs. The colours of the socks inspired me to use this name.

The socks are worked toe-up. They are really cosy due to the slip stitch pattern on both sides of the foot but not too thick – apart from that I just love “my” diamond slip stitch pattern…

The instructions are written for using a circular needle as magic loop but you can use double pointed needles as well. It’s up to you!

You can use any sock yarn in two colours. The main colour should be solid. The result will be particularly beautiful if you use a variegated or self-striping yarn as contrast colour.

Size can be adjusted easily.

**Yarn requirements:**You can use any sock yarn that fits the gauge (needle 2.5mm/US1.5) estimated yardage for EU 40/US 8.5 / UK6.5: Main Colour - 165 meters (180 yards) Contrast Colour - 101 meters (110.5 yards) The yardage depends on the size you knit.
