I designed this as the ‘perfect autumn scarf’ because I love to wrap up in the autumn, but in the UK, there is still warmth and sunshine in this month. The 4ply yarn used in this scarf means the wearer can look the season, but not overheat.
The Perfect Autumn Scarf does not use much yarn and can be made with leftover sock yarn or minis.
The pattern is 2-in-1 and includes instructions for the orange autumnal scarf and the grey scarf, which features a neater selvage.
Get 4ply stash busting! Different yarns will produce a different tension and finish. The orange yarn is high twist, thus quite elastic. This is covered in the instructions and the pattern is very suitable for a beginner or experienced knitter wanting a no-think project.
This project is great for a beginner trying out new skills and stitches. The main fabric is garter stitch and the selvage features a lace eyelet pattern, for added texture and interest.
