When I planned My Year of Mitts, I really wanted to make mitts with beads. And as life rushes by, they have only come at the very last month. Beads look very pretty, but they also slow down crocheting. As such, I chose a geometric pattern so you do not have to worry so much about the placement of each bead. I made the mitts two-color because I like to buy beads just right for the yarn — but if I had used blue beads on blue yarn, you would not have been able to see anything of them. And because I also wanted to use just the right blue, there is the blue thumb. The mitts are made of slip stitches so that they fit snugly on the hand. The lace yarn lets them be very delicate and fine.
