Détails du produit

The quokka is a small macropod, found only in the southwestern regions of Australia. With its’ splendid smile and congenial charisma this mini-kangaroo is considered Australia’s cutest citizen. And, just for being one of two mammals, that have a name starting with a Q, (together with the slightly less lovable-looking quoll), the quokka deserves to have a knitted double!

This 11 cm quokka has a 9 cm tail and was made on 2.25 mm dpn (UK 13, US 1) in Lana Grossa Silkhair (115) golden brown, Lopi Einband (0885) oatmeal heather, (0887) chocolate and (1038) light beige heather and Rowan Kidsilk Haze (686) lustre. Both the color and texture of your yarns determine the outcome of quokka, so adding a strand of mohair to the base yarn and/or adding a greyish ply of yarn to a brown base will create the rugged, agouti colored coat.

This is an easy to medium project, that asks for flat, in the round and intarsia knitting and short rows.

Notes
Texture and color of your yarns shape the quokka's look. Mixing grey and brown plies and adding a ply of mohair make an agouti colored, rugged coat.
