The world of Jane Austen inspired me. This rectangular shawl is knitted with two very close colors but it is possible to knit it with a single color. It begins with a provisional crochet cast-on. The garter stitch body of the shawl is worked back and forth as a rectangle. The lace part is worked in the round along the edges after picking up and knitting stitches along the sides of the rectangle.
