Using Roman Labyrinth pattern you can make either a pillow or area rug. The pattern can be recreated with just two shades of yarn. This easy to follow pattern (19 pages) is written for one size (a version for print with no pictures is also included). It contains a chart and step by step full written instructions in English using standard crochet abbreviations and US terms (stitch guide is given in the pattern). It also contains lots of pictures explaining all the tricky and difficult places.
