Sanquhar style Christmas decorations

Traditionally Sanquhar patterns were worked in black and white, the black has been substituted for more traditional Christmas colours. It is assumed you can read a chart for colour knitting. Front of each ornament is charted only, back has written instructions. These hanging ornaments are designed with a plain back, if you wish to work patterns on both sides please note you will require extra contrast yarn.

Materials required for each ornament: Two sizes of knitting needles are given, as not everyone likes working with really tiny needles, there will be size differences if larger needles are used. If you wish to work with even larger needles then you may require more yarn. One pair of size 17 (1.4 mm) knitting needles or size 19 (1 mm/US 00000) knitting needles; approximately 55 yards/50 metres 1-ply yarn in main colour; approximately 20 yards/18.5 metres 1-ply yarn in contrast colour; small amount of polyester stuffing; sewing needle with large eye.
