Very simple hat and scarf set designed to fit most adults. Hat is ribbed on smaller needles, scarf in garter stitch on larger needles. Gauge isn't critical since the ribbing should make it fit most. Set uses a full cake of Caron Tea Cakes yarn. I designed this to make for homeless men at my church; I'm offering it free in hopes it may help others to do likewise.
Added note: This year (2019) I made the hats in Bernat Softee Chunky. One ball of solid will make a hat with a little left over. Some balls of ombre made a complete hat, while some needed supplementing from leftover solid. If you choose a multicolor, you may want to make it a few rows shorter before the shaping to ensure having enough yarn. With the leftover solid, I was able to make 18 hats plus a smaller one from 14 balls of yarn.
