The flamingo is constructed using medium weight yarn and US 5 (3.75mm) DPNs, which makes it approx. 7” sitting (from the bottom of its body to the top of its head, the legs are approx. 4” in length). However, any size yarn and needle size could be substituted to vary her size.
It is knit mostly in the round, the wings are knitted flat. The pattern is 10 pages long and includes photos to assist you.
Recommended skill level is Advanced Beginner due to working in the round with DPNs.
Techniques used in this pattern: k - knit p - purl kfb - knit front & back k2tog - knit 2 stitches together k3tog - k 3 stitches together pfb - purl front & back Picot BO Knit CO - used for adding stitches in the middle of a piece.
