Skimmia is an easy and addictive half-moon aerial shawl. It is knitted from top to bottom, alternating sections of garter stitch and lace as well as the thicknesses of wool. The side edges of the shawl are knitted in garter stitch and yarn over. To finish Skimmia, we make a delicate picot border.

- 540 m /590 yards of fingering (Linen Merino Singles from LITLG).
- 480 m /525 yards of lace (Haze mohair lace from LITLG)
Needles : 3.75 mm circular needle (US 5), 80 cm long.
Gauge : 21 st and 40 rows to 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch in 3.75 mm (US 5) in fingering weight, after blocking.
