Starlight Sun Hat

This is a PDF crochet pattern for a gorgeous sun hat with a stripe of star stitches, which made me think of the sun shining through the stars, hence the name "Starlight". The pattern calls for 20 lb hemp or cotton twine, I do NOT suggest substituting other yarns for this one. My pattern testers and I tried several other yarns but none of them provided the same results as the hemp. Because of this, I wrote a similar pattern specifically for cotton that also has a stripe of star stitch, see "Ashlee Beanie or Cloche". The patterns are similar but definitely different enough to be worth buying both. If you cannot find the right hemp, or you are worried about working with hemp (it can be hard on your hands but the finished result is beautiful), then see the Ashlee Beanie or Cloche pattern instead.

Sizes included in this pattern are: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, toddler, child, teen/adult, and large adult.

For sizes 0-3 through 6-12 months, you will need at least 1 ball
