Train Guard Tea Cosy

The next knitting pattern arriving on platform three will be the Train Guard Tea Cosy knitting pattern. The design was based on a photo of a train guard from a heritage line, so the uniform has a vintage look to it.

The stout train guard is wearing a black suit and he is wearing big boots. On his head he is wearing a cap with gilt edging and a green badge.

In his hands he has the train guard tools of the trade, a green flag and a whistle. His cheeks are puffed up as if he's about to blow the whistle.

Around the back of him he has a post sack for of letters and parcels for the Royal Mail. The mail bag has a minimal amount of Fair Isle knitting on it to spell out MAIL.

He's a lovely tea cosy, full of nostalgia of a bygone time when steam trains were mesmerising. He'd be perfect for any steam train enthusiast.
