Double knitting is a great technique to create a warm and reversible fabric. Once you create letters using two colors, however, the fabric loses its reversibility. The letters are mirrored on the reverse side. With this chart the letters are readable from both sides, resulting in a truly reversible hat! You can even create different words on the two sides, allowing different messages depending on your mood...
The pattern is to make the hats as shown, but gives step by step directions for making your own chart.
