A beautifully versatile shawlette, perfect for wearing over the shoulders of a floaty summer dress or over the top of a winter coat for extra warmth and as a stylish alternative to a scarf. Can also be wrapped around the neck as a neckerchief.
Named in Honour of Queen Victoria who had a residence here on the Isle of Wight called Osborne House.
Method:
The Victoria is knitted from side to side and from the top down. It is softly triangular in shape and formed by increasing stitches on every RS row throughout. The top part of the shawlette consists of two variations of the same stitch pattern worked at an angle to each other to provide interest and a designer touch. The remainder of the pattern is made up of different ‘bands’ of design, these can be alternated differently, omitted or duplicated to make something unique or to increase/decrease the finished size.
The shawlette is finished off with a fun and fashionable crocheted edging of pretty bobbles.
