What the Heart wants Shawl

For my 100th design, I want you to celebrate love with me! Love to your partner, your kids, pets, family, or something you love doing! May you and the one you love be happily ever after, until your hair is gray in the autumn of life! This half-pi shawl features three lace patterns I have created myself using Naomi Parkhurst’s technique of encoding words into stitch patterns. The words I’ve encoded are happily, ever, and after. You can’t read the words in the shawl - they are a secret code in the chart! The fourth pattern features lace hearts - because what would a shawl celebrating love be without hearts!?! Next up are leaves in white - standing for your love still being there with you in old age. The border is worked in the Lover’s Knot pattern to complete the theme! I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing this shawl at least as much as I have enjoyed creating it for you!
