Product Details

8-bit Fair Isle Hat is a bonnet style hat inspired by 8-bit video games and born of the need to wear a wind-proof hat when riding my bike. I made this one for myself and I love it.

Sample shown knitted with Létt-Lopi.

Materials you will need:Yarn
Létt-Lopi (100% wool, 100 meters / 109 yards, 50 grs) or any other Aran weight yarn
• #9418 stone blue heather (MC), 1 ball (75 m/82 y)
• #9428 rose heather (CC1), 1 ball (40 m/ 44 y)
• #9426 golden header (CC2), 1 ball (40 m/44 y)

Needles
5 mm [US 8] needles
4 mm [US 6] straight (or circular) and set of double-pointed needles (dpn)

Notions
Stitch markers (I use them to keep track of every decrease and one to mark the end of the row)
Tapestry needle.

The techniques you will need to knit this hat are:
- Stranded knitting (knit and purling). I'll be adding a post about color dominance soon.
- Knitting in the round
- Work icord
