Product Details
This triangular shawl is knitted sideways. It is asymmetrical as the starting tip is narrower & longer than the ending tip. It has a slightly flared ending edge.
If you know how to knit & purl, increase & decrease stitches, you can knit this.
The Gathering Stitch pattern is alternating between ‘gathered’ Stockinette & plain Garter Stitch sections. The Gathering effect is created by 1 increase row at the beginning & 1 decrease row at the end of the Stockinette sections.
The overall size of your shawl will depend on the yarn weight & needle size you’ll use, as well as on the length you’ll want to knit.
My sample shawl measures 170 x 80 cm. It was knit with a “long colour-changing” yarn & 5,5 mm needles.
Optional: I chose to knit the End Garter section with 5 mm needles to contain the flare. The stockinette sections on this shawl are 20 rows tall.
Happy knitting :)

- The suggested yarn above has a very close gauge to the yarn used for the sample shawl as a very nice alternative available here on LoveCrafts.com.
