Straightforward and easy-peasy, the perfect scarf for the lace beginner or for a more experienced knitter looking for a mindless knit. The central column of lacey stitches is worked over and odd number of rows. As you knit you only need to memorize 7 easy and quite repetitive rows to produce the zig-zag effect, while indeed the motif always moves to the right as you knit it. As you are knitting in garter stitch, always remember to slip the first stitch of each row purlwise with the yarn in front to create a nice, neat edge to your knitting.
