WARNING!! Do not let your friends and family see your Aldolpho. You will not be able to knit anything else until they all have one.
Aldolpho was inspired by Debi van Zyl's Beast Pillows.
Construction: Beginning with a provisional cast-on, Aldolpho's body is knitted in the round from bottom, continuing up through the eye pods, and grafted at the top. Optional pocket is knitted in. Mouth and eyes are embroidered. Legs are worked down from initial cast-on. Arms are worked separately and stitched on.
Gauge: 18 sts and 28 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch, measured after washing and fulling the fabric.
Techniques used: Knitting both in the round and back and forth, M1, joining colors, grafting, mattress stitch; embroidery stitches: duplicate stitch, back stitch.
Pattern includes: Written instructions, diagram for embroidery, schematic, glossary.
