Product Details
In 2015, Britain celebrated the centenary of the story of Alice in Wonderland written by Lewis Carrol and illustrated by Sir John Tenniel. My pattern draws on the original Tenniel illustrations and I have depicted four of the main characters, dressing Sylvanian Families and Calico Critters in their style.
The patterns are not for the beginner! They all use a pair of 2 mm (US 0) needles and a selection of remnants of lightweight wool such as laceweight. Two lengths of stranded embroidery floss or crochet cotton will work well, plus a few tiny shirt buttons (such as are used on collar lapels.
You will need to be able to knit in two colours, work on miniature clothing and sew in quite a few ends! The end result is stunning and you will be able to read the story to children and act out the scenes with your dressed characters.
