Product Details
In 1996 Tux was created, for Linux, by Larry Ewing. In 2003 Nicolas Rougier created a Baby Tux. Then, in 2011, we created Illusion Baby Tux, based on Rougier’s drawing.
Baby Tux is an illusion that is viewed from the bottom so that it can be used on a baby blanket. The finished blanket is approximately 81 cm x 104 cm (32” x 44”) when knitted in DK yarn. You can use any yarn you want though this may change the overall size of the blanket. The blanket in the photos used Stylecraft Special DK in Royal and White (2 balls of each).
Illusion knitting (which is sometimes called shadow knitting) is very easy to do. You knit two rows in one yarn then two rows in the other yarn, just like knitting normal stripes.
When you look straight at the knitting you see stripes; when you look from an angle you see the picture.
The pattern contains several versions of the chart including one for use on phones and tablets.
