Product Details
Barabashki takes its name from shaggy little creatures, the guardians of hearth and home in Slavic folklore. The sound of the name is also very similar to that of other lovely fuzzy creatures "barashki" or "little lambs".
This design works best with novelty yarns, which often look exciting in skeins but are hard to find the right project for. The traits of the featured novelty yarn and the volume of bobble stitches produce a great fun texture.
Two shapes are included in the pattern: a triangular kerchief and a scarf/stole, both of which can be made to any width/length. The kerchief is worked from the bottom corner up to the top edge. The scarf/stole is finished with triangular ends and allows for easy length/width modifications.
Finished Sizes (using one skein total) - Kerchief: 42½" (108cm) wingspan, 10¼" (26cm) height at center - Scarf: 47¼'' (120cm) long, 9" (23cm) wide
The sample shown was worked in YarnArt Barba. A subsitute is shown below.
