This asymmetrical triangular shawl is knit from tip to edge in a relaxing, gentle combination of garter stitch for the main body of the shawl, and a wide decorative lace border (a variation of ‘feather and fan’) along one edge. The border is punctuated with tiny tassels to add a bit of whimsy. Ideal for new knitters looking for a challenge, this shawl is equally suited for accomplished knitters who simply want to indulge in a meditative project that travels well (it’s perfect for the commuter train or coffee shop) and is a pleasure to wear for a variety of occasions – for festive gatherings or doing farm chores!
This pattern is written for fingering weight yarn; 100g/440 yards of main color and 25g of border color were used. The sample pictured was knit using a woolly/rustic combination of yarns: Folk City Fiber Studio Full Moon for the main color and hand-dyed BC Garn Bio Shetland for the border*.*
