Product Details

This lightweight wrap features a delicate and very unusual lace stitch. The focal lace stitch makes a natural scallop to the ends of the wrap. (Should you want the edging "rounder", it can be accomplished in the blocking stage.) It is a very elegant wrap without being difficult to knit. The final size is 20 inches by 74 inches. This is a written (not charted) pattern. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting)

The yarn used in the sample is Lorna's Laces, Shepherd Sport, undyed yarn.

The stitch is both charted and written out line by line.

No crochet hooks are needed if you don't want to edge the shawl.

Most heavy weight fingering yarns, or sport weight yarns will work for this pattern if you can get a gauge of 4.25 sts/inch on a US #5, #6, or #7 (3.75mm, 4.00mm, or 4.75mm) knitting needles, in lace stitch, aggressively blocked
