This wrap is a quick and easy introductory intarsia color knitting project.
Actually, I think you will be more occupied staying on top of your seed stitch border pattern than worrying about managing your few balls of yarn. And since they are generous sweeping color sections, you will have a minimal number of yarn tails to weave in at the end. Love it! :)
Because mohair can be very warm for a whole shawl, this design not only uses a smart distribution of "mohair warmth" but it also allows the mohair to become a focal point by highlighting its contrasting airy texture to the surrounding solid wool stripes.
If you don't like or are allergic to mohair, you could replace the mohair with a boucle yarn to add interesting texture to your wrap.
The bold zigzag pattern was inspired by the many stacked mountain ranges that form the Rocky Mountains and is named after the Beartooth Mountain range along the border of Montana and Wyoming.
