Product Details
This design secured me a place in the (Top Ten) Finals of the Vogue Knitting Live 2018 San Francisco Magic Mohair Design Contest, run in conjunction with the release of the book, “Faerie Knitting” by Alice Hoffman and Lisa Hoffman - and ... itwas modeled there, along with the other 9 Designs that made the Final Judging. I am super happy with it!
The cape is mainly worked flat, from the bottom up, and features a special, rolled edge hem. Shaping begins after the second ‘garland’ has been worked, continuing on into the shoulder area and around the neckline, and is offset by a lateral braid near the top. After the braid row has been worked, the cape is joined to work in the round, so it may be easily slipped over the head. A picot bind off is worked to finish the garment. The ribbon bow is stitched on and there for effect only. You could use any decorative clasp in place of this.
