Since I began collecting vintage Shetland knitwear from local charity shops I have longed to find a particular kind of beret that I kept seeing in old knitting books. But the perfect vintage beret has so far eluded me, so I decided to make my own. The tweedy flecks in the Milarrochy Tweed lent themselves perfectly to the vintage feel I was aiming for while still creating a modern looking hat.
