I just love the brioche stitch. For me there is a rhythm to it that is soothing and exciting at the same time. This pattern has a rather large center motif of framed leaves, with a small edge vine motif. But despite the look of complexity and number of rows in the pattern, the stitches are few and familiar to anyone who has done brioche before. The colors I chose for the piece (The Farmer's Daughter's Foxy Lady, Porch Pumpkin and Hill Country) remind me of a New England fall afternoon. I used one skein of each color and did not use the entire skein of either.
You will want to select 2 contrasting colors to make the pattern pop. i find that fingering weight yarns gives a wonderful drape, but you could use a sport weight or DK. There are row by row written instructions as well as charts for your use.
