Product Details
This pattern was inspired by William Morris’s drawings of the root system of plants, so it has a true “Arts & Crafts feel”. When wearing this, I was often asked “how did you do this?”, because the stitches look much more difficult to do than they are to knit!
This scarf is knitted in 2-colour Brioche. The instructions include 2 patterns for bobbles in either colour 1 or 2. You can easily double the width of this pattern by knitting 2 pattern blocks side by side.
Any DK yarn is suitable, but I would recommend yarn quality with some elasticity (such as wool or a wool mix) or with a “halo” (such as mohair etc.).
I used 2 variegated yarns, but any colour quality - variegated, solid or both - will look beautiful.
In my opinion, this pattern is suitable for advanced knitters; you will work Brioche increases and decreases, cables and bobbles. Some of these stitches are my own invention, so this pattern is perfect for knitters who like to try new stitches!
