British Garden Birds Knitting Pattern

Fun downloadable knitting pattern that takes you through knitting and making up four of the most well-loved British garden birds- a chunky robin, a blackbird, a blue tit and a songthrush. Step-by-step instructions and lots of photographs teach you simple colourwork and textured knitting- the pattern is suitable for knitters who can cast on and off, work knit stitch, purl stitch and work increasing and decreasing stitches.

All birds are all knitted flat so NO knitting in the round is needed.

Birds each measure 16cm tall when finished.

You will need:

- Chunky yarn in various colours (you can use any chunky yarn you like- the pattern suggests a mixture of Stylecraft Special Chunky, King Cole Big Value Chunky and Cygnet Chunky)

- A pair of 4.5mm straight knitting needles

- Darning needle

- Toy stuffing

- Scraps of felt for the eyes
