Who does not love a hat with ears? This is so much fun to put on, and so easy to make. It knits up quickly using mostly stockinette stitch, but feels special because of the ears (of course) and because buttons up the back allow your little bunny to stick her ponytail out whether she like to wear the ponytail high, low, or in the middle. Maybe it should be called a bunnytail hat!
Instructions are given for two sizes: smaller child, approximately 1-3 years old (finished size about 17", for head circumference up to 18.5”), and larger child, approximately 4-8 years old (finished size about 18.5", for head circumference up to 20"). You will need about 130-150 yards of the main color and 10 yards of the contrast color for the ear lining.
This is knitted flat, in one piece. Row-by-row instructions are easy to follow. This is a great project for a beginner, using primarily stockinette stitch, and makes a fun gift.
