What you'll need
Product Details
A cosy beanie hat to keep you warm on your wanderings, inspired by the fronds of New Zealand’s native ferns, such as the iconic ponga tree. The fern-frond stitch pattern is formed with simple lace increases and decreases, and both charted and written instructions are provided.
When knit in a possum-blend yarn, the Bushwalk Beanie is particularly lightweight, soft, and warm! One ball of Zealana Kauri yarn will be enough for a hat that weighs only 40 grams, and folds up easily to stash in your backpack.
Materials: One ball of Zealana Kauri 4ply, or 160 yards of fingering-weight yarn. I recommend a slightly fuzzy yarn such as a blend with possum or alpaca content, or a rustic-style wool yarn.
Sizing: To fit a medium or large adult woman’s head, with 22-24” circumference. Suggestions are included for resizing by adding or omitting pattern repeats.
