There are 2 different gauge requirements for the hat pattern. It will depend on which size of hat you are wanting to knit.
The cowl comes in 5 different sizes: Toddler - 15” x 7” 38 cm x 18 cm Child - 18” x 8” 45.5 cm x 20.5 cm Adult Small - 21.5” x 9.5” 54.5 cm x 24 cm Adult Medium - 25” x 9.5” 63.5 cm x 24 cm Adult Large - 28.5” x 11” 72.5 cm x 28 cm
