Product Details
A few friends (enablers!) asked me to create a version of the shawl that the Duchess of Cambridge wore shopping. This triangular shawl is worked from side to side with short-row ruffles worked as you go and a lovely basketweave stitch pattern that reverses at the center back, forming a pretty design focus.
Shawl pattern includes 4 sizes, P (S, M, L) - shown in medium. Length: 56 (64, 72, 80)" Mid-back length: 21 (24, 27, 30)" Shawl shown is a medium, with points that hit at mid thigh, back point at lower back, and sides to the elbow - just like the duchess's.
Gauge: 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in pattern stitch.
Skills used: Provisional cast on, short rows, grafting (just a few stitches at ends).
Pattern includes: Written instructions, stitch pattern in both written and charted formats, glossary.
The pattern is written but also includes a supplementary chart - a visual aid : ) It is easily modified to accomodate a number of different yarns and gauges simply by adding or subtracting the number of repeats worked to the center. (The pattern tells you where.)
