What you'll need
Product Details
The inspiration for this headband/ear warmer was a leftover skein of a cashmere-blend yarn that was too soft and pretty to toss back into the stash -- I wanted it to keep me warm! Cashmears uses a faux I-cord edging and an usual cable that looks a bit like a chain. It knits up very quickly and is a fun challenge if you want to try something beyond a simple rope cable.
To knit this pattern, you will need to know how to work flat (knit and purl), slip stitches, cable using a cable needle, increase purlwise (using m1 increases), and decrease (using p2tog).
Notions needed:
two cable needles
yarn needle to weave in ends
one 1 in./2.5 cm button
Finished dimensions: 2.25 in./5.5 cm wide and 22 (24.5) in./56 (62) cm long (laid flat; ends are overlapped a bit when worn)
Please note that while the recommended yarn is classified as a DK, I find that it knits up like a light worsted. Yarns in either weight category will work well for this pattern. This pattern has been tech edited.
