This shawlette design embodies the city of Baltimore. It is in turns fancy and simple, its busy lace sections framed by plain bands of stockinette and garter stitch. The yarn itself is soft but sturdy—a blend of BFL, cashmere and silk with a subtle sheen when it catches the light. It all comes together to create something special. The pattern includes both charts and written instructions. The lace repeat is short and easy to memorize, making this a great project for on-the-go knitting or a first shawl for beginner knitters.
