Product Details

These classic socks with a cabled diamond motif and a reinforced oeil de perdrix heel are luxurious, classic and cosy. Knit them in any sock yarn, in small, medium or large.

These socks can be knitted in any 4 ply (fingering) sock yarn. The samples were made using Rowan Fine Art Premium Sock Yarn in Lapwing (colour discontinued) and Artesano Definition Sock Yarn in Crocodile (yarn discontinued).

The pattern includes comprehensive written instructions and charts, and instructions for knitting with four DPNs or magic loop on a 80 cm (32 in) or longer circular needle.

I've written the pattern so you can make two socks from one 100 g (3½ oz) hank of yarn (if that's what you're using), but this means the large socks are one pattern repeat (one diamond motif) shorter in the leg. If you prefer a longer sock, you'll need two hanks or three 50 g balls.

Notes
Note that the needles are either/or: 4 DPNs or 1 circular. Stitch markers are optional (see pattern) but particularly useful for magic loop.
