Product Details

Pattern pages 1-12: Body and leg variations, assembly instructions, special stitch instructions; pages 13-14: Head and tail, and other details

The chimpanzee pattern is a little complicated because of the muzzle and eye patches which are knitted separately and then sewn into place. Otherwise, it’s very easy. Unlike monkeys, chimpanzees and apes don’t have tails. Chimpanzees are the closest living relative to humans. They have opposable thumbs, have a lifespan of about 50 years, and are known for their human-like expressions of love, sadness, curiosity, and even altruism.

You need to have…

  • Yarn in desired color(s) and weight (~3oz/75g sport weight; ~12oz/350g worsted)
  • Dark contrast yarn for eyes and nose
  • Knitting needles at least 2 sizes smaller than those recommended for the yarn
  • Stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
