The Chunky Tweed Beanie came about as a sister pattern to my earlier Easy Tweed Beanie (which is an Aran/worsted weight pattern). It has the same benefits as the Easy Tweed Beanie:
* It's a great stashbuster pattern; perfect for using up partial skeins.
* It creates a really warm and cosy hat! The stranding which takes place on the reverse side means that most of the hat has a double thickness of yarn.
* The tweed effect created by the simple slip sts lets you play with colour to create a truly unique hat.
* Only 1 yarn is used at a time; it's one of the easiest ways to enjoy colourwork.
* You don't have to use leftovers - 2 skeins of yarn will make 2 'sister' hats it the main and contrast colours are reversed. This is particularly nice for gift knitting, similar styles yet different hats.
The Chunky Tweed Beanie has 1 advantage over the Easy Tweed Beanie though - chunky yarn is much quicker to knit up! Also only 1 size of circular needle is needed for this pattern.
