Product Details
This loose 1920’s-inspired shrug is worked using a combination of two stitch patterns that are at the same time exquisitely beautiful and deceptively simple. Elegant and relaxed over a chemise or equally awesome with a tank top and jeans.
Shrug is knit from side to side in one piece. Cast-on and bound-off edges on fronts and sleeves use picot edging. A few short rows add extra flutter to the sleeves. The only seams are across shoulders and a few stitches under the arms.
Sizing: The fit should be very loose. If in doubt make the next size up.
Yarn: The yarn used typically works up at 25-28 sts per 4" in stockinette stitch. Substitute any plump fingering or light sport weight yarn that works nicely to gauge. Louet Euroflax linen would be a lovely warm weather substitute.
Skills used: Knitted cast on for picot edges, lace knitting worked on both right side and wrong side of fabric, short rows (explained).
Pattern includes: Written instructions, stitch patterns in both written and charted form, schematics, glossary and abbreviations, of course!
